Application Results for the 2022 Calls in the “Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment” cluster for Turkish Part

Application Results for the 2022 Calls in the “Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment” cluster have been announced. The call remained open between October 28, 2021 – February 23, 2022. For the calls where the competition is high and 4590 institutions and organizations applied for 77 topics, 7 projects involving 7 organizations from Turkiye were supported and a total of 1,206,659 Euro grants were received.

The details of the supported projects are as follows:

OceanICU

MIDDLE EAST TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY has applied as a Turkish partner. It was presented within the scope of “HORIZON-CL6-2022-CLIMATE-01-02: Understanding the oceanic carbon cycle” call.

There are 30 organizations in the OceanICU (Ocean-ICU Improving Carbon Understanding) project consortium. The project aims to generate management tools that enable basic knowledge of biological systems to assess the ability of human interventions in the ocean to alter the carbon cycle, and to address the tension between resource extraction and carbon storage.

ECO-READY

MİGROS TİCARET ANONİM ŞİRKETİ has applied as a Turkish partner. It was presented within the scope of “HORIZON-CL6-2022-CLIMATE-01-04: Fostering the resilience of agricultural production: from observation of changes to the development of resilience strategies” call.

There are 19 organizations in the ECO-READY (Achieving Ecological Resilient Dynamism for the European food system through consumer-driven policies, socio-ecological challenges, biodiversity, data-driven policy, sustainable futures) project consortium. The project will develop an Observatory available as a real-time monitoring system, e-platform, and a mobile application. This system will act as the only necessary source of information, providing real-time assessments for the food system and updating forecasts frequently and consistently.

ALLIANCE

MİGROS TİCARET ANONİM ŞİRKETİ has applied as a Turkish partner. It was presented within the scope of “HORIZON-CL6-2022-FARM2FORK-01-04: Innovative solutions to prevent adulteration of food bearing quality labels: focus on organic food and geographical indications” call.

Project with the acronym ALLIANCE (A hoListic framework in the quality Labeled food supply chain systems’ management towards enhanced data Integrity and verAcity, interoperability, traNsparenCy, and tracEability) involved 26 organizations. Through innovative technology solutions and validated approaches, it aims to provide a holistic framework that maintains data integrity and accuracy, increases traceability and transparency, and strengthens interoperability in the quality-labeled supply chain of organic, PDO, PGI and GI foods.

WATSON

MİGROS TİCARET ANONİM ŞİRKETİ has applied as a Turkish partner. It was presented within the scope of “HORIZON-CL6-2022-FARM2FORK-01-11: Effective systems for authenticity and traceability in the food system” call.

WATSON (A holistic frameWork with Anticounterfeit and inTelligence-based technologieS that will assist food chain stakehOlders in rapidly identifying and preveNting the spread of fraudulent practices) is a project in which 44 organizations are involved. It aims to provide a combined methodological framework with a set of tools and systems that can detect and prevent fraudulent activity throughout the entire food chain, thereby accelerating the deployment of transparency solutions in EU food systems.

LIKE-A-PRO

ZEYTİNCE ECOLOGICAL LIFE SUPPORT ASSOCIATION and TURKISH MILK, MEAT, FOOD MANUFACTURERS AND MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION (SETBIR) are the Turkish partners of the project. It was presented within the scope of “HORIZON-CL6-2022-FARM2FORK-01-07:Building alternative protein-friendly sustainable and healthy food environments” call.

LIKE-A-PRO (From niche to mainstream – alternative proteins for everybody and everywhere) project has 42 organizations in its consortium. It aims to promote alternative proteins, making them accessible, usable, and acceptable to everyone, from children to the elderly, and everywhere (in urban, urban, and rural areas across Europe).

WASTELESS

HACETTEPE UNIVERSITY, MILK, MEAT, FOOD INDUSTRIALISTS AND MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION OF TURKEY (SETBIR) and FAZLA GIDA ANONİM ŞİRKETİ are the Turkish partners of the project. It was presented within the scope of “HORIZON-CL6-2022-FARM2FORK-01-08:Research and innovation for food losses and waste prevention and reduction through harmonised measurement and monitoring” call.

The project, with the acronym WASTELESS (WASTE QUANTIFICATION SOLUTIONS TO LIMIT ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS), has 29 organizations in its consortium. It will develop and test a mix of innovative tools and methodologies for Food Loss and Waste (FLW) measurement and monitoring.

SBEP

SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTION OF TURKEY has applied as a Turkish partner. It was presented within the scope of “HORIZON-CL6-2022-GOVERNANCE-01-02:European Partnership for a climate neutral, sustainable and productive Blue Economy” call.

SBEP (A climate neutral, sustainable and productive blue economy Parternship) partnership has 59 organizations in its consortium. It aims to design, guide and support a fair and inclusive transition to a renewable, resilient and sustainable blue economy, accelerating the needed transformation towards a climate-neutral, sustainable, productive and competitive EU by 2030.
