About the position

St John’s College invites applications for a five-year postdoctoral position which is a fixed-term career development post intended for candidates at an early stage of their academic career. This post, which combines research and teaching duties, is known in the College as a Supernumerary Teaching Fellowship. The successful candidate will combine an outstanding programme of research in mathematics, with small group teaching to students of the College. Total remuneration is in the range Grade 8 - £49,119-£58,265 per annum inclusive of Oxford University Weighting payment. The appointment is available from 1st October 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter, and will end on 30th September 2032. Applications for this post are particularly welcome from women and Black and minority ethnic candidates, who are under-represented in academic posts in Oxford. This is a fixed-term career development post intended for candidates who are at an early stage of their academic career. The Governing Body of St John’s College has endorsed the principle of career development for all fixed-term teaching posts which extend for one year or more. The purpose of this is entirely constructive, and designed to ensure that postholders have access to appropriate support and advice during their period of employment by the College.
