Adjunct Faculty –Clinical Supervisor of Teacher Candidates

Position Purpose:

Aurora University seeks talented adjunct faculty who are passionate
about teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are qualified
part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on
course demand and staffing.

Essential Job Functions:

Aurora University is searching for qualified candidates to
supervise/evaluate pre-teachers in their methods and student
teaching clinical experiences. A master’s degree in a related
field, current Illinois teaching licensure in content area of
supervision, and five years teaching experience is required.
Daytime availability and travel to local schools is required. This
is not a full time faculty teaching position. Pay is per student
supervised.

Essential Job Requirements:

Education : Master Degree in Education or related field.
Professional Educator License/Certification required in content
area of supervision. Minimum qualifications must align to the
Faculty Qualification Policy

Experience : 5 years teaching experience

Skills : Knowledge of content for area of supervision;
evaluation of what constitutes good teaching, knowledge of
Charlotte Danielson Evaluation System, mentoring disposition.

Expected Availability (Days, Times, and Location) :
Requirements vary by content area but generally include 3–4
in-person evaluations at the assigned school during school hours.
Placements will be within a 30-mile radius of Aurora University.
Supervisors are also expected to conduct weekly check-ins with both
the student teacher and bi-monthly with the cooperating
teacher.

Compensation : Compensation is based on the content area and
the required number of evaluations. For Elementary Education,
Secondary Education, and Physical Education, the rate is $550 per
student teacher. For Early Childhood/Special Education (ECS) and
Special Education, the rate is $825 per student teacher.
