About the position
The Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego (UCSD) is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. Our Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition is seeking Pediatric Gastroenterologists to join our Division at UCSD and Rady Children's Health (RCH), with an opportunity to focus on pancreatic disorders. Rady Children's Hospital -San Diego is the largest children's hospital in California, and pediatric gastroenterology services are provided through the faculty of the UCSD Department of Pediatrics. Unique opportunities to attract nationally-recognized leaders include the resources and outreach of UCSD and RCH–home to the top NIH-funded Department of Pediatrics in California, a top ten U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll children's hospital, the top university-recognized by US News & World Report for gastrointestinal and hepatology research, and leading programs in biomedical engineering, cell and developmental biology, genomics, microbiome, and metabolomics. The successful candidates will join our GI practice of 23 attending faculty and 7 advanced practice providers with 6 ACGME pediatric gastroenterology fellows. The successful candidates will contribute to the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology's mission of delivering high-quality inpatient and outpatient care and performing procedures. The successful candidates will also supervise, mentor, and teach pediatric residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical and academic activities. In addition, the successful candidates will actively participate in scholarly and research endeavors, contributing to the department's academic mission. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates must have an MD or equivalent. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
