Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (HS Clin, In-Res, Adjunct, Clin X) Pediatric Medical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics

in the Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego and
Rady Children's Hospital
-San Diego is currently seeking to expand the Medical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics team. We are seeking applications from physicians or physician-scientists to fill the following positions:

• Clinical Geneticist
• Metabolic Geneticist
• Clinical Director

The Division is actively involved in clinical care, research, teaching, and service. Our program sees more than 4,000 patients per year in a variety of clinics, which are primarily outpatient at Rady Children's Hospital‐San Diego, a top ten US News & World Report-ranked Children's Hospital. We also see patients at the UCSD Medical Center, throughout Southern California, and in Mexico.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, patient care, inpatient consults, outpatient genetic clinics, and multidisciplinary team settings, the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and continued scholarly contributions to clinical, translational, developmental, and/or basic research.
In addition, the successful candidate for the Clinical Director position will provide clinical leadership, which includes oversight of divisional budgets, quality improvement activities, and direction for members of the Division. Clinical activities could reflect the candidate's specific interest as well as the general genetics program.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.
Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.

Basic qualifications
(required at time of application)
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, or an MD/PhD in health-related fields.
Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Genetics and/or Biochemical Genetics.

Preferred qualifications
Candidates with at least 5 years of clinical experience and/or an active research grant-funded program in Genetics are preferred.
