About the position
The Department of Medicine , Division of Cardiovascular Medicine , and the Cardiovascular Institute at the University of California, San Diego are committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are recruiting for Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologists to join our team of specialists in Heart Failure, Transplant, and Mechanical Circulatory Support. The selected candidates will provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with advanced heart failure. In addition, the selected candidates will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students, residents, and fellows. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree and be board-certified or board-eligible in Advanced Heart Failure. Candidates must also either possess or be eligible for a California medical license, or an equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
