About the position
The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence amoung its faculty, staff, and student body, and is seeking general anesthesiologist faculty. The Department of Anesthesiology emphasizes postgraduate education in anesthesiology and offers opportunities to develop clinical and research skills in all areas of anesthesiology, critical care, and pain medicine. Selected candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality training and teaching, delivering clinical care, and/or conducting research. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD in a health-related field. Candidates with an MD or equivalent must be board eligible or board certified in Anesthesiology. Candidates with an MD or equivalent must also hold, or be eligible for, a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board.
