About the position
The UC San Diego School of Medicine and the Department of Neurological Surgery are committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body and are pleased to announce a recruitment for junior faculty neurosurgeon(s), with an anticipated start in 2027. The Department of Neurological Surgery is among the leading neurosurgical centers in the nation. The faculty position(s) will include patient care, teaching, research, and strategic service line expansion, and may serve all affiliated clinical locations (La Jolla, Hillcrest, East Campus, and/or North County). The UC San Diego ecosystem offers a world-class environment to make foundational contributions in all specialty areas. Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level in the HS Clinical or Clinical X series. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates must have an MD degree and be board-eligible in Neurological Surgery. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an ACGME-accredited residency program. Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Additional qualifications (required at time of start) Candidates must have completed a fellowship in Skull Base, Spine, or Neurotrauma by the appointment start date.
