We welcome candidates whose research advances understanding of human movement, physical activity, exercise, health promotion, chronic disease prevention, rehabilitation, mobility, functional capacity, and healthy aging, and who can contribute to addressing current and emerging challenges in health and human performance. In the context of the evolving professional landscape of kinesiology in Québec, candidates who can strengthen links between research, professional practice, and interprofessional collaboration are particularly encouraged to apply.

This position will play a strategic role in advancing the complementary missions of the DKPE and the Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute (SASSI) at McGill University (https://www.mcgill.ca/sassi/). The successful candidate will contribute to the advancement and translation of knowledge in sport, physical activity and/or human health across the lifespan, while strengthening SASSI’s mandate to generate and apply innovative research in applied sport science, particularly research aimed at optimizing elite athlete health and performance.

We seek a collaborative and forward-thinking scholar who will enrich the DKPE’s collegial academic environment, build sustainable partnerships with academic, clinical, community, public health, and sport organizations, and connect fundamental discovery with meaningful applications in health, sport, and human performance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop productive local, national, and international collaborations. The ability to work in both English and French is an asset.

McGill University is consistently ranked among the world’s leading universities and is located in the heart of Montreal, a vibrant, cosmopolitan, and culturally diverse city where both French and English are widely spoken. With a history of physical and health education dating to 1912, the DKPE offers a B.Ed. in Physical and Health Education, a B.Sc. in Kinesiology, and graduate programs leading to M.Sc., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees across six areas of specialization. The successful candidate will join a dynamic academic community with extensive opportunities to complement and expand existing research strengths in the DKPE, SASSI, the Faculty of Education, and the broader University.
