Description

The Division of Social Science at New York University Abu Dhabi
(NYUAD) is inviting applications for a tenure-track position in
Economics and Data Science. The successful candidate’s tenure home
would be in the Economics program and will hold an affiliation in
the new MSc in Interdisciplinary Data Science and AI (MIDSAI). The
position carries a teaching load of three courses per year, one of
which will be for MIDSAI.

As NYUAD is a research university, we seek applicants with an
active research agenda in economics and AI. The ideal candidate
will be a leader in applying data science and AI tools to questions
in economics, or conducting empirical research on the economic
implications of AI. This specialization is broadly construed and
might include research related to big data collection, machine
learning, natural language processing, image or video analysis,
network inference, computational finance, online platforms and
algorithmic behavior, and more. We are especially interested in
scholars who work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and
environments. All candidates should demonstrate important
contributions to their area of research.
