About the position

Applicants should have expertise in at least one of the following fields: solid-state chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, semiconductor engineering, or have a strong interest in developing expertise in one or more of these areas. Work content and job description 1. The successful candidate will be required to carry out research for thin-film synthesis of new materials and development of their functions and physical properties. 2. The successful candidate will engage in educational activities and provide research supervision in the field of solid-state chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, and/or semiconductor engineering. 3. The successful candidate will engage in the administration and operation within the Department of Chemical Science and Engineering, School of Materials and Chemical Technology. 4. The successful candidate will supervise the education and the research of undergraduate and graduate students in collaboration with Prof. Akira Ohtomo. 5. The successful candidate will be responsible for education and research in inorganic chemistry within the Department of Chemical Science and Engineering, and will participate in undergraduate laboratory courses and experimental instruction. 6. The successful candidate will engage in activities within one of the eight Visionary Initiatives (VIs), which serve as interdisciplinary research hubs. Selected applicants may be asked to have an on-campus interview and/or give a presentation. Please note that travel expenses for attending in-person interviews will not be reimbursed.
