About the position

The School of Nursing, Public and Allied Health at LJMU has been committed to advancing developments in health and social care for over 25 years, tracing our origins back to 1991 when the Liverpool School of Nursing and Midwifery joined with Liverpool Polytechnic. Today, we continue to strive to tackle health inequalities, social exclusion, and deprivation in local communities (and beyond) through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula and a growing programme of international partnerships as well as providing both aspiring and experienced nursing and allied health professionals with the learning experiences and research opportunities needed to meet the demands of current and future healthcare landscapes.

We are a multi award-winning school, having won the Student Nursing Times Awards on three occasions since 2018.

Working alongside experienced academic staff, you will deliver practical teaching sessions, facilitate simulation activities, demonstrate clinical procedures and contribute to the ongoing development of innovative learning resources.

You will:

  • Be a registered healthcare professional with current NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Have experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Be passionate about supporting learners and developing clinical competence.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work flexibly and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic team.
  • Have an interest in simulation-based education and skills development.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver clinical skills teaching, simulation sessions and practical workshops.
  • Support students in developing safe and effective clinical practice.
  • Provide feedback that enhances learning and performance.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of teaching materials and learning resources.
  • Participate in wider School and University activities, including open days and outreach events.
