Computing and Mathematical Sciences Division - Assistant/Associate Professor Faculty Positions in Human-Robot Interaction and Embodied AI

The Human–Computer Interaction Area within the Division of
Computing and Mathematical Sciences at MBZUAI invites applications
for a faculty position focused on human–robot interaction and
embodied AI. We seek candidates whose research advances the design
and evaluation of embodied AI systems that interact and collaborate
effectively with people. We encourage interdisciplinary
collaboration across AI, robotics, and related fields. Faculty
members will have opportunities to collaborate with industry
partners, government agencies, and research institutions to develop
AI-driven solutions for real-world challenges.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering
high-quality instruction, mentoring of students, contributing to
curriculum development, and will also have the opportunity to
collaborate with leading AI researchers. We are seeking faculty
at Assistant/Associate Professor levels.

Qualifications

This position requires:

• Ph.D. in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science,

Information Science, Cognitive Science, Design Engineering, or a
related field by the time of appointment.

• Strong research record in HCI, demonstrated through

publications in top-tier venues and funded research (as appropriate
to career stage).

• Demonstrated potential (for Assistant level) or established

excellence (for Associate) in teaching and mentoring.
