Department of Philosophy Faculty of Arts McGill University Winter 2027 Course Lecturer Position Deadline to Apply: October 15, 2026 The Department of Philosophy is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Winter 2027. Please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and if applicable a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional. PHIL 367-001 19th Century Philosophy (3 Credits - CAP 45) An examination of the works of such 19th century philosophers as Mach, Helmholtz, Dedekind, Frege, Marx, Kierkegaard, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Mill and Bradley. Teaching Qualification Requirements: - Applicants must have completed a PhD degree or be enrolled in a doctoral program in Philosophy; - Applicants must provide evidence of highly effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught or worked as a teaching assistant in a similar course; - Applicants should have research specializations that include topics in 19th Century Philosophy, preferably evidenced by conference presentations and/or publications in the field; minimum qualification is two graduate seminars completed on topics specifically in 19th Century Philosophy, as characterized in the general course description. Monday and Wednesday 04:05 pm-05:25 pm, January 5, 2027 – April 14, 2027. Location: BIRKS 205. Salary: $ 11,824 per course.
