Doctoral position at Department of Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering, Public University of Navarre, Spain
Objectives:
- Develop a quantum theoretical framework describing light–matter interactions in spatiotemporal metamaterials
- Investigate quantum light generation mechanisms in time-modulated media
- Explore quantum phenomena associated with synthetic motion, vacuum effects, and connections with general relativity
The candidate will develop multidisciplinary skills on nanophotonics theory, quantum optics, and will collaborate with experimentalists via secondments at Umeå University (UMU), and an industry internship at Menditech.
Starting date: February 2027
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in fields of Applied Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Material Engineering etc.
- You should not have a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment.
- You must not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the recruitment (this is a requirement from the funding authority).
- Strong skills in the English language.
