Position Description

The SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING at CORNELL UNIVERSITY is looking for outstanding candidates for multiple tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of electrical and computer engineering, at all ranks of seniority, for its main campus in Ithaca, New York. We are particularly interested in the following areas: computer engineering (e.g., AI hardware, computer architecture, digital VLSI), robotics, semiconductor devices, plasma science and engineering, and quantum devices. Applicants must hold a doctorate in an appropriate field by the time their faculty appointment begins. They must have demonstrated an ability to conduct outstanding research and show promise for excellence in teaching. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The salary range reflects an aggregate of qualifications and disciplines across Cornell University and will fall between $83,200 - $357,300. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position
  • Academic discipline (faculty pay ranges reflect 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills
