Background of the recruitment and description of the project We are pleased to announce that the School of Management (SOM) in Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) is recruiting for the Faculty position in Management (Entrepreneurship/Operation Management). Work content and job description (1) Language of instruction: Japanese only, English only or both Japanese and English (2) Courses to be taught: Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship or Production and Operation Management ※ You may be assigned to teach graduate-level courses; all such courses are conducted in English. ※ Depending on your knowledge and experience, you may also be assigned to teach courses other than those listed above. (3)Teaching Load Professor and Associate Professor: An average of 5 class hours per week throughout the academic year (1 class hour is 100 minutes) (e.g., 6 class hours per week in the Spring Semester and 4 in the Fall Semester, or 5 class hours per week in each semester) Assistant Professor: An average of 4 class hours per week throughout the academic year (1 class hour is 100 minutes) Professor level Annual Salary : 6 million yen ~ 15 million yen Associate Professor Annual Salary : 7 million yen ~ 15 million yen Assistant Professor level Annual Salary : 5 million yen ~ 7 million yen Description Preferred Qualifications and Attributes Applicants must meet either requirement (1) or (2), as well as requirements (3) through (8), and be able to commence employment from the date of appointment indicated above. (1) Possesses a doctoral degree in a discipline related to the position of interest (or is scheduled to obtain one within one year of appointment) and has experience publishing articles in high quality peer-reviewed journals. In the case of ABD (All But Dissertation), the candidate must have passed the dissertation plan review and be eligible to submit the dissertation. (2) Possesses a master’s degree in a discipline related to the position of interest and at least five years of practical experience in an executive/senior-level position in a company, government agency, or international organization, and has experience in consulting or publishing books, and articles in the field of interest. (3) Be fluent in the primary language of class instruction (English or Japanese). Ability to teach both in English and Japanese is an advantage, but not required. (4) Ability and willingness to work in a culturally and academically diverse environment. (5) Commitment to assurance of learning and meeting the standards for accreditations, including AACSB and AMBA. (6) Demonstrated ability to engage students in learning and to translate theory into practice (7) Demonstrated ability to publish academic or practice-oriented research. (8) Be able to supervise thesis writing in English.
