About the position
Position Description
The Questrom School of Business at Boston University is seeking to fill one position at the full professor level starting in the 2027-28 academic year, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. Applicants should have an outstanding research record and are expected to grow Questrom’s reputation by making significant contributions to a business-related field of research. Particular attention will be given to scholars with expertise in areas that advance our understanding of interactions between business and government, corporate purpose and governance, competition policy, or business and the natural environment. Scholars in law and economics and economic history – with a focus on the role of firms in markets and society – are also invited to apply. Preference will be given to those who could help further build the newly established and generously endowed Ravi K. Mehrotra Institute of Business, Markets, and Society as Questrom’s signature institute focusing on the role of business in society. Preferred candidates will also connect to one or more of the current research strengths of the school and will have demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence and the potential to build their research into the curriculum.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree and currently hold a tenured faculty position at the associate or full professor level. Successful candidates will conduct research, teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, and help to establish the Ravi K. Mehrotra Institute for Business, Markets and Society as a leading research institute. Salary, research support, teaching load and benefits are competitive.
The starting salary for this position is $350,000-$400,000 and represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
