Responsibilities

• Leading Talents

1.Identify frontiers or directions in the discipline and formulate strategic development plans for the center.

2.Build and lead high-caliber research teams, and undertake national or international research projects.

3.Conduct world-leading original research, and drive key technological breakthroughs and the translation of research outcomes.

4.Promote interdisciplinary integration between biological breeding and mathematics, physics, chemistry and other disciplines.

5.Mentor young researchers and establish research platform and international cooperation.

B. Outstanding Young Talents

1.Conduct scientific research in frontier basic and interdisciplinary fields as an independent PI, producing world-class original research.

2.Contribute to the integrated reform of education, scienceand technnolgy and talent development, and cultivate top-tier innovative talents.

3.Participate in the development of centers and platforms, as well as international exchange and collaboration.

Qualifications

(i) Comply with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, demonstrate sound scientific integrity, and align with the university's values and cultural aspirations.

(ii) Applicants for Leading Talents should hold a tenured faculty position or equivalent at top-tier universities, disciplines, or research institutions world-wide, have internationally recognized academic reputation in the relevant research directions, and demonstrate the ability to lead teams, organize big projects, and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration. Applicants for Outstanding Young Talents should have work experience (including postdoctoral research) at world-wide top-tier universities, disciplines, or research institutions, and have produced world-class research outcomes.

(iii) Preference will be given to candidates with experience in biological breeding, artificial intelligence, gene editing, synthetic biology, plant and animal genetics and breeding,or related fields.

Salary and Support

(i) Career Development: Appointed as Professor or Researcher, and involved in the university’s internal talent program support system.

(ii) Compensation and Benefits: Will be negotiated on an individual basis, with competitive remuneration, ample research funding and graduate student quotas, and excellent working conditions. Established research teams recruited as a whole, team-level start-up funding and resource support will be provided.
