Job Location: Gateway House Employee Weekly Hours: 37.00 Market Supplement: Job Description: Main duties and responsibilities Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Science Full Time, Fixed Term Maternity Cover for 1 year or until the termination of the maternity period. Faculty/Directorate Home to four specialist schools: Allied Health Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, and Leicester School of Pharmacy, the faculty educates and develops professionals who make a significant difference to lives, health, wellbeing, communities and society. The Leicester School of Pharmacy has an excellent reputation for the delivery of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses and makes a substantial contribution to the research activities of the faculty. The Pharmaceutics team within the Leicester School of Pharmacy support several programmes including our MPharm, BSc Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Science, M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Quality by Design and our newly validated M.Sc. Cosmetic Science. Our research group is also very strong, with significant grant funding and an excellent publication profile. Role In order to cover the academic duties of a valued member of our team who is taking maternity leave we have a vacancy for a highly motivated lecturer in Analytical Chemistry. You will join an enthusiastic team working in modern teaching and research facilities. You will be a key part of the team and will be responsible for the delivery of teaching as well as engaging in research and contributing to ongoing programme development. Ideal Candidate You will have a BSc and PhD in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related area with experience of applying analytical techniques (especially HPLC) to pharmaceutical problems. You will be expected to contribute to research and external income generation within the Faculty and produce publications in a relevant area. Experience of teaching at HE level is desirable, but not essential for this role. We also place high value on contributions to academic citizenship activity in the School.
