About the position
The Scripps Institution of Oceanography Department, at UC San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and we are interested in candidates who are committed to upholding UCSD's Principles of Community Principles of Community . The Department is currently accepting applications for temporary, non-tenure track lecturers (Unit 18) to teach for the current/upcoming academic year or summer session. All areas of earth, atmospheric, oceanographic and marine biosciences may be considered. We are seeking candidates with mentorship, student-centered pedagogy, and classroom management skills. Positions available are part time (typically only one course, one quarter a year), on a Department needs basis.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application) A candidate must have Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Earth, Atmospheric, Oceanic and Marine Biosciences or related fields, demonstrated knowledge of the "state of the field", and evidence of effective teaching are required.
