In this role you will contribute to teaching, research, knowledge exchange, enterprise and business engagement in the Department of Science in the School of Health & Life Sciences, as well as contributing to the wider School and University. We are looking for an individual with the ability to teach a range of Forensic and Crime Scene Science topics. Applicants should have expertise in crime scene investigation, forensic evidence examination, and the application of ISO/IEC 17020 and/or ISO/IEC 17025 standards to trace evidence detection and enhancement using alternative light sources (ALS) and chemical treatments. Knowledge of human remains identification would be an advantage.You will have a First Degree in a relevant discipline / equivalent professional qualification or significant practical work experience. You must also hold, or be willing to achieve, a relevant Teaching Qualification, normally within 2 years of employment, i.e. PGCHE/Higher Education Academy (FHEA) accreditation. The Tees Valley is an enjoyable place to live – in the heart of the North of England’s coastline and countryside, with easy access to Durham, Newcastle and York.
