About the position

Kingston Business School is seeking to appoint an experienced and practice-focused Lecturer in Real Estate to join the Department of Accounting, Finance and Informatics.

The appointment will strengthen teaching capacity across our BSc Real Estate Management and MSc Real Estate provision. We are particularly interested in candidates with professional or industry expertise in property and land law, landlord and tenant, property agency law and practice, planning and development, and/or real estate asset/property management.

The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching, assessment, marking, module leadership and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will help ensure that our curriculum remains professionally current by applying relevant legislation, case law, regulation, professional standards and contemporary real estate practice.

A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Real Estate, Surveying, Property/Land Law, Planning or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional standing. You should be able to teach and assess in at least two of the specialist areas identified above.

Chartered Surveyor status (MRICS/FRICS) or another relevant professional qualification would be highly desirable. A PhD is desirable: strong professional standing, industry experience and the ability to translate practice into excellent teaching are central to this appointment.

The Department of Accounting, Finance and Informatics delivers a broad portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and maintains strong links with industry, professional bodies and external stakeholders. The Real Estate team combines academic and professional expertise, and this appointment will add specialist capacity in the legal, regulatory and practice-based dimensions of the discipline.

For informal enquiries, please contact Dr John Sebastian Pereira, Head of Department, Accounting, Finance and Informatics.

Staff are expected to spend the majority of their working week on campus, contributing to the vibrant academic community that defines Kingston University.
