About the position
The Department of Architecture at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers and lecturers in lieu of GSIs to teach studio courses in the area of design, should an opening arise. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester (fall, spring, and summer), depending upon the needs of the Architecture department. General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and using Cal’s electronic resources for course management. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent international degree at time of application. Additional qualifications (required at time of start) For the Instructor role, candidates must possess a professional Architecture Degree (an M.Arch from an Accredited Architecture program, or equivalent international degree) at time of hire. Preferred qualifications Three or more years teaching college level courses
