About the position
The Department of Physics at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified, temporary, non-tenure track lecturers to teach a range of physics courses. Applicants are considered for positions as needs arise; the existence of this pool does not guarantee that a position is available. We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach/co-teach small, medium, and large size undergraduate lower and/or upper-division lecture, seminar and/or laboratory courses in Physics. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include: Holding office hours; Assigning grades; Advising and communicating with students; Preparing course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and exams - Using a learning management system (e.g. bCourses) and/or maintaining a course website; and, Managing and mentoring graders and/or graduate student instructors. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application) A Master's degree (or international equivalent degree) or be enrolled in a Master's degree program at the time of application. Additional qualifications (required at time of start) A Master's degree (or international equivalent degree) by the start of the appointment. Preferred qualifications A Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree), and/or prior college-level teaching experience.
