About the position

Background of the recruitment and description of the project The Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP) was established in 1957 as a national joint research institute at the University of Tokyo to promote condensed matter physics and materials science research in Japan. In 2010, ISSP was granted a license to operate as a joint research center and act as a center of excellence in condensed matter physics and materials science. Since its inception, Research, Human Capability Development, and Joint Usage are the core axes of our activities. Work content and job description The Kimura Laboratory at the Institute for Solid State Physics is seeking highly motivated early-career researchers who will pioneer novel X-ray imaging techniques by combining advanced X-ray light sources, such as synchrotron radiation, X-ray free-electron lasers, and high-order harmonics, with ultraprecise X-ray optical devices. The successful candidate will participate in the JST FOREST Program project, “Development of Ultrafast Soft X-ray Hyperspectral Microscopy,” and will develop X-ray imaging technologies as well as apply them to research in materials science, including studies of surfaces, nanostructures, and biological materials. We welcome candidates who are eager to mentor students and early-career researchers, support joint-use experiments at ISSP, and contribute to the development of key technologies for the planned upgrade to SPring8-II. The scope of change is as follows: Displacement, concurrent service, and secondment may be ordered. However, in principle, such orders may not be issued against one's will. Various systems Transportation expenses : available. commuting allowance (up to 55,000 yen per month) Measures for preventing passive smoking at the workplace The status of measures to prevent second-hand smoke is indoor smoking cessation (establishment of smoking areas).
