Open Recruitment for a Project Research Assistant Professor (Quantum and Information Engineering)

The College of Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology is pleased to announce an opening for a Project Research Assistant Professor to conduct research on quantum applications using generative AI as part of the project for Middleware Development for the Industrialization of Quantum Computers under the "Research and Development Project of the Enhanced Infrastructures for Post-5G Information and Communication Systems," funded by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

Work content and job description
The successful candidate will conduct research at the Quantum Computer Science and Engineering Group, College of Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology, focusing on the practical application of quantum computing technologies. In particular, the candidate will engage in the research and development of technologies that support quantum computation using artificial intelligence, especially generative AI.
As part of our support for early-career researchers, Project Research Faculty members may, with the approval of the PI, devote up to 20% of their effort to independent research activities. Within this 20% effort allocation, they may apply for and participate in competitive research funding programs, such as Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI).

Selection
Applicants will be screened based on their submitted documents, followed by an interview. Travel and other expenses related to the interview will be borne by the applicants.
