The position is for a fixed-term period of 3 years. Expected start date is 1st of January 2027 and the place of work is Bergen, Norway. ## About the project/work tasks: The PhD candidate will work as part of the HELP.d-project (Harmonising Evidence and Linking Interventions to Advance Treatment of Pedophilic Disorder). HELP.d is a Horizon Europe-funded research project that aims to improve the understanding, assessment, treatment, and implementation of interventions for pedophilic disorder. Main tasks - Conduct a systematic evidence map of measures used in pedophilic disorder research. - Contribute to the development of a conceptual framework for core clinical constructs. - Develop measures or refine existing scales. - Conduct psychometric analyses. In addition, the PhD candidate is expected to be involved in joint work with the larger HELP.d network. ## Qualifications and personal qualities: You must: - hold a master's degree (or equivalent) in psychology, forensic psychology, clinical psychology, health psychology, or a closely related field at the time of application - have good knowledge of quantitative methods - work independently and in a structured manner, and demonstrate good collaboration skills - have proficiency in both written and oral English It is an advantage if you have: - research experience regarding pedophilia or pedophilic disorder, sexual offending, sexual health, help-seeking, stigma, or related areas (this qualification will be given more weight than the remaining advantages) - research experience in psychometric analysis - research or practical experience in clinical or forensic psychology - prior publications and/or conference presentations For admission to the doctoral programme, grade B or above is normally required for the master’s thesis, or the average grade of the qualifying degree. Personal qualities will be emphasized. Ambitions and potential will also be considered in the assessment of candidates ## About the PhD position About the PhD position: The duration of the PhD position is three (3) years. You cannot hold a PhD within the same academic field as this position, nor can you be employed in a PhD position for more than one fixed-term period at the same institution. The University of Bergen is subjected to the regulation for export control system. The regulation will be applied in the processing of the applications. If the university has not received the assessment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within 6-12 weeks after applying for an export license, any offer of employment will be rescinded. About the PhD programme: As a PhD Candidate, you must participate in an approved educational programme for a PhD degree within a period of 3 years. It is a requirement that you meet the conditions for admission to the PhD programme at the University of Bergen.
