About the position
Context
Within the OURAGAN team, inside IMJ-PRG laboratory, the objective is to develop the theoretical approach and the experimental tools for problems related to low dimensional geometry and topology.
Conditions of a good research, in particular for scientific travel, will be covered by the team.
Assignment
With the assistance of Antonin Guilloux, the recruited individual will undertake the necessary work for a theoretical and experimental study of character varieties.
A strong knowledge of the literature in this crucial field - which lies at the intersection of topology, geometry, dynamics, and algebraic geometry - is required, as well as familiarity with the theoretical and computational tools already available.
The recruited individual will take an active part in the scientific life of the team and the laboratory, including participating in the organization committees for working groups, seminars, and conferences.
Main activities
Main activities :
study the earthquake dynamics, including in the case of projective structures on surfaces;
