Postdoctoral Associate

Position Description

The Venturelli Lab at Duke University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct innovative research at the intersection of machine learning, microbial communities, and host–microbe interactions. The postdoctoral researcher’s primary goal will be to lead innovative research projects resulting in peer-reviewed publications.

Key responsibilities include:

· Lead research projects focused on physics-integrated machine learning for microbial communities and host–microbe interactions.

· Develop and apply active learning approaches to discover governing equations for microbial communities.

· Analyze and interpret research findings and communicate results through presentations and peer-reviewed publications.

· Prepare scientific manuscripts and lead revisions in response to peer review.

· Contribute to the development and preparation of research grant proposals.

· Mentor junior researchers in research methods and scientific communication.

· Collaborate with members of the Venturelli Lab and research partners to advance interdisciplinary research projects.

· Participate in laboratory organization and activities that support a productive and collaborative research environment.
