About the position
Position Description
The Ahn Group in the Department of Physics at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in Condensed Matter Theory.
The successful candidate will work on theoretical problems involving light-matter coupling in correlated electron systems. The research will explore how coupling to electromagnetic fields and photonic environments can probe, control, or generate collective quantum phenomena in interacting electronic systems. There will also be opportunities to pursue related directions at the intersection of quantum materials, quantum optics, and many-body physics.
We are looking for highly motivated researchers who are eager to push the boundaries of theoretical research in quantum materials. A strong background in condensed matter physics, quantum optics, or a related field is desired. Applicants from adjacent fields are also encouraged to apply and explore new directions beyond their current areas of expertise.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field by the start date of the appointment.
The initial appointment is for one year, and extensions for up to two additional years are contingent upon funding and performance. The start date is flexible in 2027.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, CV, research statement, publication list, and three letters of recommendation through AcademicJobsOnline:
https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/32651
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Applicants are also encouraged to apply for the Texas Quantum Initiative (TQI) Postdoctoral Fellowship. More information is available at:
