About the position
Position Description
The theoretical particle physics group at the University of Tokyo invites applications for one postdoctoral position in particle phenomenology, with a focus on dark matter detection and its interface with quantum information and quantum metrology.
The appointment will begin on or after April 1, 2027, and end on March 31, 2030, with no possibility of renewal.
The successful candidate will work primarily with Hajime Fukuda on theoretical approaches to detecting and characterizing dark matter using tools from quantum information and quantum measurement theory. Specific research topics will be determined in consultation with the successful candidate, taking into account their expertise and interests. New research proposals related to these themes are also welcome.
We welcome applicants with backgrounds in particle theory, cosmology, quantum information, quantum optics, or related areas. Prior research experience in both dark matter and quantum information is not required.
The position will be based at the Hongo Campus in Tokyo. Current faculty in the theoretical particle physics group include Takeo Moroi, Masahito Yamazaki, Koichi Hamaguchi, Hajime Fukuda, Natsumi Nagata, and Masataka Watanabe.
