About the position
Position Description
We would like to advertise up to three postdoc positions in cosmology to work at Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. These are positions with up to 3-year duration and a flexible starting date, from Mar to Oct 2027.
We invite candidates with experience in the broad area of cosmology to apply. Particular emphasis will be given to candidates with experience in phenomenology and/or observational cosmology in the following areas:
Large-scale structure / galaxy surveys
Cosmic Microwave Background
Gravitational wave cosmology
Weak and strong lensing
Postdocs in our group will work independently and will have the opportunity to interact with the various members of the cosmology group. Ours is a vibrant young group consisting of 10 faculty members + students, and with members in many large collaborations (ex: Euclid, LSST, SO, LIGO, ET). The full list of faculty is: Bruno Moraes, Felipe Falciano, Gabriela Marques, Guilherme Brando, Isabela Matos, Karín Menéndez-Delmestre, Louis Legrand, Martin Makler, Miguel Quartin and Nelson Pinto-Neto.
Overlap with the research of the group is preferred.

Monthly Net Salary:
Category A: R$6.760,00 (30% higher than the basic postdoc fellowship in Brazil)
Category B: R$5.408,00
Some funds for travelling and equipment will also be made available.
Requirements Category A: At least two years of experience after obtaining a PhD in Physics or a closely related field at the start of the fellowship.
Requirements Category B: PhD in Physics or a closely related field at the start of the fellowship.
