Steffen A. Bass and Berndt Mueller. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: perturbative QCD, Quark-Gluon-Plasma Phenomenology, Transport Theory of Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions, Jet and heavy-flavor physics, initial state dynamics, QCD transport coefficients, the application of Bayesian statistics and ML/AI to the modeling of relativistic heavy-ion collisions and all areas of QCD with applications related to the Heavy-Ion program at RHIC and LHC as well as the e-A program at the EIC. To be considered for the position, the candidate’s research statement needs to outline how their research will fit with or complement the current research by the Duke QCD group led by Steffen A. Bass and Berndt Mueller. The research group currently consists of the two faculty, one postdoc and 3 graduate students. The successful candidate is expected to actively engage with other members of the group and participate in the mentoring of the graduate students.
