About the position

Position Description

The “Collective Dynamics and Quantum Transport” unit at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position to begin in Fall 2027. We seek highly-motivated candidates with a doctoral background in theoretical condensed matter physics and related fields. Candidates with an expertise in light-matter interactions, nonequilibirum many-body theory, quantum magnetism, open quantum systems, quantum thermodynamics, or quantum sensing are preferred. We are a theory group interested broadly in dynamical and transport phenomena in magnetic and spin systems in and out of equilibrium. The topic can be decided jointly with the PI. There will be opportunities to supervise Ph.D. students and/or Undergraduate/Master interns, collaborate with other OIST units and international theoretical/experimental research groups, travel for conferences and workshops, and apply for research fundings.
