Molde University College announces

About the position

This position is a part of the research project “HydroCCS – Optimizing industrial-scale blue hydrogen production with liquid carbon capture enabling maritime logistics chains” in collaboration with SINTEF Energi AS, SINTEF Nordvest AS, Gassco AS, Aukra kommune, Tjeldbergodden Utvikling, and Møre & Romsdal Fylkeskommune, with financial support from the Research Council of Norway.

The HydroCCS project will develop improved configurations and technology paths for blue hydrogen production based on a novel CO2 capture and liquefaction technology that delivers high-purity liquid CO2. In addition, it will investigate new national CO2 maritime logistical chains and the potential for industrial symbiosis within the Møre & Romsdal region enabled through the blue hydrogen production process. The postdoctoral project will be done in close collaboration with the industrial and research partners.

The potential areas covered by this Postdoctoral project are the following:

  • Cross-sectoral impacts of blue hydrogen production with carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Norway: a socio-economic perspective
  • Socio-economic impacts of a new national CO2 logistics chain
  • Industrial symbiosis and impacts of the CO2 and H2 value chains on the regional energy system in Møre & Romsdal.
