About the position
Background of the recruitment and description of the project From a metallographic perspective, we investigate high-temperature phenomena, including crystal growth, phase transformation, recrystallization, and grain growth, to establish the underlying science for microstructure control in high-temperature processes such as welding, casting, laser processing, and additive manufacturing. Additionally, we engage in the development of innovative technologies to accelerate the creation and practical deployment of novel materials, thereby supporting national resilience and the transition to a carbon-neutral society. *Research environment support of up to 10 million yen is available, depending on the research proposal at the time of appointment. Possess a Ph.D. degree or be expected to obtain a Ph.D. by the start date of employment. 2. Demonstrable research achievements in high-temperature processes and microstructure control of metallic materials, preferably, experiences in welding, casting, laser processing, and additive manufacturing. 3. Be fluent in English for communication in writing and speaking. 4. Willingness to contribute to the administrative tasks and research activities in the group.
