The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Kyoto Institute of Technology is seeking to appoint one professor specializing in the sociology of education who can contribute advanced empirical research on educational disparities and gender imbalances into teacher training, while leading university-wide diversity initiatives and support for female students.

Work content and job description
Work in:

• Research: Advancing specialized research in the field of sociology of education.
• University administration and Community Engagement:

Participation in various university and departmental committees; administrative and management duties
Duties related to student admissions (entrance examinations)
Subjects to be taught:
Lectures (including seminars) in the undergraduate program (Teaching Certification Subjects) on topics such as “Educational Sociology,” “Study of Extra-Curricular Activities,” and “Study of Modern Teacher”
Responsible for lectures on specialized graduate-level courses, as well as research supervision and thesis advising

Work experience

• High proficiency in Japanese, sufficient for fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.
• The applicant should have a distinguished record of achievement in research and teaching in the applicant's field, and should have a strong commitment to both research and teaching.

Measures for preventing passive smoking at the workplace
Smoking is prohibited on campus (excluding one designated outdoor smoking area).
