About the position
Background of the recruitment and description of the project Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) offers the Global Linkage Initiative Program (GLIP) with the aim of training future academic and business professionals to become active participants in the global society. GLIP is composed of two groups of subjects: GLIP English Courses and Lectures in English. While GLIP English Courses aim to improve students' English language skills, Lectures in English invite students to use English to learn about topics in various academic fields. These are elective courses whose credits can be used to fulfill the requirements for graduation. In addition, GLIP is designed to prepare students for study at universities abroad and to maintain their English proficiency after studying abroad. Work content and job description Teaching one or more of the following English courses: - Interactive English (courses for 1st year students and above to develop communication skills) - Academic English: Skill-based (courses for 2nd year students and above to develop academic English skills) - Career English (courses for 3rd year students and above to develop international business communication skills) - English language courses for English majors (required skill-based courses for 1st or 2nd year English majors) - Content-based English language courses for English majors (elective courses for 3rd and 4th year English majors, with content in Social Sciences/Area Studies, Linguistics/Applied Linguistics, and Culture Studies/Literature) - English for Academic Purposes (courses for graduate students to develop academic English skills) - Lectures in English (EMI courses in various disciplines) Description Applicants must meet all the following requirements: - Master’s degree (applicants who wish to teach courses in the ‘Lectures in English’ category must hold a PhD in the relevant field) - English teaching experience (university-level experience preferred) - Native or near-native proficiency in English - Three or more publications - Not be enrolled as a student at any educational institution by the start date Attached documents Application Form : Online Submission Curriculum Vitae (single PDF file) Please include the following in your CV: - A recent photo - Titles of courses taught in the last five years - A list of publications and research activities Selection Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by email and invited for an online interview.
