The Regulated Research Facilitator serves as a critical
bridge between UW–Madison researchers and the UW–Madison Regulated
Research Enclave. In this role, they will support researchers
throughout the onboarding process, helping to evaluate research
requirements, communicate enclave expectations, and guide research
teams toward appropriate technical and compliance solutions.
The facilitator will work closely with researchers to understand
and document research workflows, data types, instrumentation, and
operational needs. They will translate these requirements into
actionable technical, security, and compliance considerations for
Regulated Research engineers supporting both Azure-based services
and the integration of on-premises research instrumentation and
assets with the Regulated Research Enclave. Success in this role
requires an understanding of research environments as well as the
controls, documentation, and evidence requirements associated with
regulated research.
This position enables cutting-edge research by coordinating efforts
among diverse stakeholders, including the Regulated Research team,
the Division of Information Technology (DoIT), campus cybersecurity
and compliance experts, and researchers across a wide range of
disciplines. The facilitator will help align research objectives

Facilitator III titles. The title is determined by the experience
and qualifications of the finalist.

dynamic work environment grounded in organizational principles that
include family and personal life/work balance; an inclusive,
respectful, and supportive work environment; professional
development opportunities; innovation; and alignment with the
campus's teaching, learning, and research missions. DoIT provides
