Uppsala University, Department of English, The ALMEDA Project African Literary Metadata (ALMEDA) is a research project funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under Horizon Europe, the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (Grant Agreement No. 101097763). The project is based at the Department of English. Duties The duties are associated with the ALMEDA project and primarily include data curation, data entry, and data management in connection with the development of a database. Work hours may also be devoted to annotating source materials. Requirements A university degree at least at the Bachelor’s level in a relevant subject. Good computer skills and experience working with spreadsheet software (such as Excel) or equivalent software. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written. Additional Merits Good knowledge of Linked Open Data and experience working with Wikidata and/or Wikibase is a strong merit for this position An interest in research within literary studies and/or African studies, as well as experience working with cultural or literary source materials. Good familiarity with the field of digital humanities and its methods. Ability to work independently and to work well with others is also given importance About the employment The employment is a temporary position, 6 months. Scope of employment 100 %. Starting date: 1 november or as agreed.
