Description
We are seeking a highly motivated
Research Assistant
to join our research group and contribute to projects related to pancreatic beta-cell biology. The successful candidate will support ongoing research into the molecular mechanisms underlying beta-cell function and dysfunction in diabetes.The work involves advanced cell culture models, molecular biology techniques, and high-content imaging.
Duties
The Research Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
Cell Culture:
Maintenance, cultivation, and experimental handling of pancreatic beta cells.
Molecular Biology Analyses:
Performing immunostaining, immunoblotting, RNA and DNA isolation, and PCR.
High-Content Imaging:
Conducting high-content imaging experiments and subsequent data analysis.
Image and Data Analysis:
Quantitative analysis of imaging data using ImageJ and CellProfiler.
Documentation and Reporting:
Accurate documentation of experiments and participation in scientific presentations.
The position involves both independent work and collaboration with other researchers in an international research environment.
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
A Master's degree in Molecular Medicine, Biomedicine, Cell Biology, or a related field.
Documented hands-on experience in the cultivation of pancreatic beta cells.
Documented experience with standard cell and molecular biology techniques, including:
Immunostaining
Immunoblotting
RNA and DNA isolation
PCR
Cell imaging
Good knowledge of image analysis using ImageJ and CellProfiler.
Basic data analysis skills.
Excellent written and spoken English skills.
