About the position
Background of the recruitment and description of the project At Tokai University School of Medicine, we train medical professionals who can put research into practice based on the philosophy `disseminating new research results and concepts'. The Life Science Support Center equipped with various types of microscopes, including confocal laser microscopes and electron microscopes, FACS, mass spectrometers, and animal laboratories, is available for research. It makes over 60 research units concentrated on their highly specialized analysis. The Laboratory of Applied Molecular Physiology (Nakao Lab) at the Department of Physiology has been focusing on the cardiac conduction system, which is the pacemaker tissue, with the aim of elucidating the underlying molecular mechanism of heartbeat regulation and developing new treatments for arrhythmias. We perform basic medical research using a multifaceted approach that broadly covers from macroscopic phenomena at the animal and organ levels to microscopic phenomena at the cellular and molecular levels. We are currently recruiting a researcher to work with us to solve problems as a part of our team. Work content and job description Planning and performing of experiments, data analysis, research presentations, administrative work related to laboratory management, and educational assistance regarding our laboratory's research projects. Animal experiments mainly using mice, tissue sampling under a stereomicroscope, electrophysiological analysis at the individual and tissue level, image acquisition and analysis using conventional microscopes, confocal microscopes, electron microscopes, disease modeling using mice and cultured cells and gene expression experiments, bioinformatics analysis of next-generation sequencing data (R, Python, etc.). A successful candidate will be actively involved in submitting papers and applying for research fundings, and accumulate research achievements. Education and Degree Requirements Ph.D. / Doctor / Master / Bachelor / Others Description 1) Postdoctoral Fellow: a doctoral degree or equivalent/higher research ability. 2) Doctoral Fellows: a master degree, a medical degree, or equivalent/higher research ability.
