About the position
We are looking for a Research Associate to join the NLP team in the School of Computer Science & Informatics at Cardiff University. In this role, you will: - Conduct research on Responsible AI, foundation models and multimodal Large Language Models for mental health applications. - Develop and evaluate trustworthy AI methods, including uncertainty estimation and bias assessment - Develop, implement and evaluate foundation models and multimodal large Language Models for psychosis symptom measurement using multimodal mental health data. - Disseminate findings through high-quality publications and conference presentations and contribute to collaborative research activities within the project. We’d like to hear from you if you: - Postgraduate degree at PhD level (or nearing completion / submission) in a related subject area or relevant industrial experience. - Have expertise in Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and Responsible AI. - Proven ability to demonstrate creativity, innovation and team-working within work. - Ability to supervise the work of others to focus team efforts and motivate individuals. Salary: £41,064 per annum (Grade 6), with 4 annual increments up to £46,049 per annum, at the top of the scale.
