About the position
Description of the workplace LUNARC is a centre at Lund University providing services in high-performance computing (HPC), visualisation, and data storage. We support researchers across the university with advanced infrastructure, expertise, and training. This position is part of a national investment in AI within the Swedish AI Factory, the Swedish node of the EuroHPC AI Factory initiative. In this role, you will work at the intersection of advanced AI research, research infrastructure, and education, in close collaboration with national and international partners. Work duties As a Research Infrastructure Specialist in AI/ML, you will play a key role in strengthening the use of AI within Swedish research, with a particular focus on education and skills development. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and delivering training activities in AI/ML (courses, workshops, seminars) for LU researchers and users of Swedish AI Factory. Contributing to the development of educational materials and long-term training initiatives in AI Supporting researchers in applying AI methods at Swedish AI Factory resources. Contributing to the development and optimisation of AI workflows on HPC infrastructure Participating in national and international collaborations within Swedish AI Factory and EuroHPC Contributing to outreach and dissemination of knowledge in AI and its applications Qualifications Requirements PhD in a relevant field such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computational Science or other field that the employer finds relevant for the position Documented experience using and developing AI tools and models. Hands-on experience with modern AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent Strong programming skills in Python and experience working in Linux/Unix environments Documented experience in teaching, training, or course development Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with researchers and research groups Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken Merits Experience in developing and delivering courses or training programmes in AI/ML Experience working with research infrastructure, e.g. HPC, large-scale storage, or distributed systems Experience supporting users or researchers in AI-related projects Experience from international collaborations, e.g. EU or EuroHPC projects Experience collaborating with industry or public sector organisations Experience with generative AI and large language models Further information The position is a permanent poisition full-time (100%). Start date by agreement, at the latest April 2027. The position is based in Lund, Sweden.
