About the position

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher who will play a proactive role in advancing Planned Research A01, “Construction of a Molecular Basis for the Implementation of Intracellular Shuttles,” within the KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (B) (FY2026–FY2028), “Molecular Transport Revolution by Intracellular Shuttles.”
Intracellular shuttles are entirely new molecular tools designed to enable the precise and flexible control of molecular transport inside cells. In this research project, we aim to clarify the molecular structures, physicochemical properties, and functions required for intracellular shuttles and to establish molecular design principles for their realization. We will also develop foundational technologies that will enable intracellular shuttles to function in vivo, with future medical applications in mind.

Work content and job description
The successful candidate will engage in research spanning molecular design, synthesis, analysis, and functional evaluation, including polymer synthesis, peptide synthesis, physicochemical characterization, in vitro evaluation, and in vivo evaluation.
The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to activities of the research area, including area meetings, symposia organized by the research area, and public relations activities.

Description
Required Qualifications
1. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in biomaterials, drug delivery systems (DDS), peptide science, polymer chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, cell biology, or a related field, or be expected to obtain one by the time of appointment.
2. Applicants must have experimental experience relevant to this research project, such as chemical synthesis, physicochemical analysis, cell-based experiments, and/or animal experiments. Experience in all of these areas is not required; however, applicants should be willing to proactively learn unfamiliar techniques and apply them to the research.
