About the position
Our center conducts simulation studies utilizing various numerical models, including Earth System Models (ESMs), to clarify the complex dynamics and interaction mechanisms of the Earth system, comprising the atmosphere, ocean, land, ecosystems, and anthroposphere. Work content and job description We are recruiting a Researcher or Researcher (II) to lead pioneering simulation research on multi-sphere interactions—specifically incorporating continental ice sheets and solid Earth models, which have not been comprehensively covered in conventional ESMs—and investigate Earth system dynamics operating across diverse temporal scales. [Relevant Research Fields] Climatology, Paleoclimatology, Computational science, etc. Work experience The following are desirable: ・Basic knowledge of oceanography, meteorology, polar science, etc. ・Experience in code development for climate models and Earth system models (design, programming, and academic presentations) ・Experience in conducting large-scale numerical experiments using supercomputers Measures for preventing passive smoking at the workplace No smoking on the premises (smoking areas are available outside), no work in areas where smoking allowed.
