Description of the workplace The position is located at the Division of Human Rights Studies, Department of History at Lund University. The Department of History is host department for Lund University’s Human Rights Profile Area. The position is part of the research group on digital exclusion, specifically the research project The Future of Human Rights in the Digitised Age (FRIDA), funded by the Swedish Research Council. The project is a collaboration with the Department of Cultural Studies. Work duties and areas of responsibility The position is part of the research project The Future of Human Rights in the Digitised Age, funded by the Swedish Research Council. Together with the project leader and other researchers in the project, you will conduct qualitative data gathering through interviews, focus groups, and photo elicitation med people living in digital exclusion. The work duties also include some data analysis and compiling a methods guide. The data gathering requires local travel, while other tasks are completed on site at Lund University. Qualifications The assessment will primarily be based on your research merits within the subject area of the project. Requirements for employment are: Doctoral degree in Human Rights or other subject of relevance for the project. Good knowledge of human rights, particularly issues relating to human rights on the local level and the role of civil society organisations in local communities. Good capacity for qualitative research methods in human rights research. Ability to take initiative, be structured, and work independently. Good ability to collaborate. Very good ability to express yourself in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. Additional qualifications for the position are: Documented research of clear relevance for the research project. Experience of working in interdisciplinary settings and to collaborate with researchers from different disciplines. Experience of collaboration with people and organisations in civil society and local communities. Further information The appointment is temporary and limited to two months at 50%, starting 21 October 2026 or according to agreement.
