About the position
The disposal of high-level radioactive wastes from nuclear power plants is a problem considered to be one of the most important issues at both national and international levels. As a fundamental solution to the problem, the establishment of nuclear transmutation technology where long-lived nuclides can be changed to short-lived or stable ones will be vital. Progress in R & D in the transmutation of long-lived fission products (LLFP) in the nuclear wastes however, has been slow. Our group aims to obtain reaction data of LLFP at RIBF and other facilities which may lead to a new discovery and invention for peaceful use of nuclear power and the welfare of humanity.

Work content and job description
Leading a wide range of research activities, including the acquisition of nuclear transmutation data using negative muons, related research and development, and applied research.
The job description may be changed during the contract period or upon contract renewal to the extent described above.

Pay increase system :
Salary will be an annual salary based on experience, ability, and performance, and will consist of a base salary and a variable salary. The variable salary will be determined each fiscal year based on experience, ability, and performance.
Supplementary explanation of compensation
RIKEN has a telecommuting system, but this position requires attendance at the work location. Therefore, the telecommuting system is not available for this position, in principle.
