About the role

We are looking for a motivated Senior Chemist in our Chemical Process Development (CPD) group to strengthen our Materials Technology Centre. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development and scale-up of chemical processes that enable the production of innovative materials for a wide range of applications.
Job summary
As senior chemist you are responsible for managing multiple research projects as well as problem solving of critical cases.
You will design and develop chemical processes that are technically feasible, cost-efficient and scalable towards industrial production;
You will define experimental programs and ensure a structured and data-driven approach;
You will organize and oversee laboratory work, including experimental planning, execution, analysis and reporting of results;
You will implement innovative technologies for scale-up from laboratory to industrial scale;
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support process transfer to production;
You will manage multiple projects and ensure clear stakeholder communication;
You will ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental standards, inline with our Agfa processes and standards.
As Senior chemist you have the following Profile
You hold a Master’s degree in Organic and/or polymer Chemistry or a related field. A PhD is an asset;
You are proactive, hands-on and enjoy working in a laboratory environment;
You are a strong communicator and team player in a multidisciplinary setting;
You are curious and eager to learn, with a strong motivation to deepen your expertise in process technologies and chemical synthesis. Experience with reaction calorimetry is considered an asset;
You are well organized and able to manage multiple projects in parallel;
You speak fluent Dutch and English or are willing to learn to speak Dutch;
You are willing to travel occasionally for short periods (+/- 10%).
